Private Lessons are the best way to receive one-on-one, hands-on training. These lessons are completely catered to the behaviors and training needs that you are wanting to work on. In-Person Private Lessons are done in your home or at a dog-friendly public location. Virtual Lessons are done via Zoom or FaceTime.

WHY CULTIVATED CANINE?
At Cultivated Canine Dog Training, we teach humans to speak dog through the science-based behavior intervention policy of LIMA or "Least Intrusive, Minimally Aversive."

According to the CCPDT, "LIMA requires trainers/consultants to work to increase the use of positive reinforcement and eliminate the use of punishment when working with animal and human clients. In order to ensure best practices, consultants should pursue and maintain competence in animal behavior consulting and training through continuing education, and hands-on experience."

We are in agreement with the CCPDT, that "positive reinforcement should be the first line of teaching, training, and behavior change program considered, and should be applied consistently."

What is positive reinforcement? Positive reinforcement training uses a reward, such as treats, praise, or anything your dog finds rewarding, to teach or reinforce desired behaviors.

Why positive reinforcement? The reward, whatever it might be, makes your dog more likely to repeat the desired behavior, making positive reinforcement a powerful tool for shaping or changing your dog’s behavior.

Our goal at Cultivated Canine is to teach humans to speak dog, and we we will help to build a solid foundation of communication between you and your dog... but you must build on that foundation once we leave. Teamwork makes the dream work!
